| * | As your circumstances change e.g. you buy a house, your cover amount needs to be adjusted accordingly. |
| * | You could experience an event such as, a critical illness or accidental injury that will have a negative effect on your earning capacity. |
RETIREMENT PLANNING
What you Should Ask:
| * | Do I have any personal retirement annuities? |
| * | Do I know how much money I need to retire comfortably? |
| * | Do I have a pension/provident fund with my employer? |
| * | Do I know how much income my current retirement provisions will provide at my retirement? |
| * | What options are available to me with regards to my pension/provident fund if I am retrenched or leave my employer? |
| * | What are the tax implications of my retirement provisions? |
Why you Should be Asking:
| * | A Retirement Annuity is a very effective way of saving towards retirement. |
| * | A detailed analysis will provide you with the tools to plan effectively for your retirement. |
| * | The rate of inflation and other factors affect the income that will be received at retirement and needs to be assessed annually to ensure that you are receiving the best return on your investments. |
| * | There are many tax and investment advantages to re-investing or preserving your pension/provident fund on retrenchment or change of employment, other than withdrawing the funds. |
